Visit Kallesøe A/S at the LIGNA fair in Hannover, Germany
Once again Kallesøe A/S is participating at the LIGNA fair in Hannover, the largest wood-fair in the world.
Kallesøe A/S is proud to present breaking news in the field of impregnation of wood on this year’s LIGNA fair: By means of high frequency it is now possible to permeate sapwood as well as heartwood, so state the results of the Danish Technological Institute of Copenhagen.
The list of the advantages of the method is long: Apart from the prolonged life time of the wood, because the wood does not rot from the inside and because fungi do not want to live in it, it is possible to colour imbue the wood in the same process.
At the same time environment is protected: Energy consumption is greatly reduced with this permeation process which takes only from 2 hours, and the impregnation agent is based on the element boron which occurs naturally in the upper layers of the earth’s crust. When the wood is sealed the substances of the impregnation agent remain in the wood and are not washed out. The fully permeated wood is so harmless that it may be used indoors; it even has fire retardant properties which would be of interest for the construction of for instance wooden houses. Wood with moisture content from 5% MC to 40% MC can be fully permeated in the new process, leaving out a prior drying of the wood.
The method has the additional advantage that the wood can be dried subsequently in the same process by means of high frequency. A drying process that used to take 3-4 day is now completed in 22 hours. The wood is dried quickly and uniformly, reducing crack formation and distortions to a minimum.

Besides presenting the new permeation method, Kallesøe A/S will present the favourable possibilities of gluing wood by means of high frequency. Using a mini-press that has been built especially for the occasion, Kallesøe A/S’ Austrian high frequency expert, Wolfgang Osl, will present the quick working of a gluing process in a HF-press based on high frequency technology. What used to take up to 4 hours is now completed in 20 minutes.

At the LIGNA fair you can find us in hall 12, stand F29.
The event will run from the 18th to the 22nd of May 2009. During these days 1,800 exhibitors are expected to participate and more than 100,000 visitors from around the world to visit the fair. This year’s subject of the fair is: "Making more out of wood".
