Kallesoe Machinery A/S participates in DANIDA-project

3. januar 2011

Kallesoe Machinery A/S has recently signed a contract supporting a development project in Zambia. The project, established by DANIDA, aims to improve and develop a saw mill in the town of Ndola in central Zambia. The major part of profits from the production goes to the running of a local orphanage.
The orphanage and later on the saw mill were founded by Danes and now work as an independent company in which a Danish couple has helped manage the place for thirteen years.

The saw mill expands production in order to make it possible to glue wood together to boards to be used for furniture production. This way, turnover should rise in order to increase profit for the orphanage and hopefully to enable an expansion of the orphanage.
Kallesoe Machinery A/S is to manufacture one of its specially designed Quickpresses to be used to glue and press laminated board. In addition, Kallesoe Machinery A/S will build up the production flow of the company and manufacture various conveyors and tables for the production.

As an important part of the project, Kallesoe Machinery A/S is to assist with knowledge and with training of African staff to control the equipment. For this purpose, one of Kallesoe Machinery A/S’ service people will reside in Ndola for three months in total over the next few years to assist with knowledge about laminated wood production.

Kallesoe Machinery A/S is pleased to participate in a project like this, aiming to improve production methods and with that to reduce poverty in a developing country.

Kallesoe Machinery A/S has previously supplied laminating presses to Africa, mainly South Africa; however this Kallesoe Machinery press is the first to be set up in Zambia.
